The episode picked up where episode 6 left off, with U-20 captain Oliver Aiku reading Yoichi Isagi’s off-the-ball movement and successfully clearing the ball, stopping the Blue Lock team’s attack.

Yoichi acknowledged Oliver’s ability to read the field and sense where the greatest dangers lie as a defender. Determined to rise to the challenge, Yoichi needed to surpass Oliver in the match.

When play resumed, the Blue Lock squad pressed forward with their triangle formation, led by Rin Itoshi at the center. However, the U-20’s “Iron Wall Quartet” defenders—Miroku Darai, Teppei Neru, Kazuma Niou, and Oliver Aiku—shut down Blue Lock’s attempted advance.

The U-20 team transitioned quickly, passing the ball to Sae Itoshi, who orchestrated a counterattack. With masterful passing, the U-20 team moved the ball deep into Blue Lock’s territory, setting up Sendo Shuto for a clear shot on goal. However, Gin Gagamaru deflected the attempt with an impressive save.

Yoichi realized the challenge of breaking through the U-20 team’s Iron Wall defense. Meanwhile, Blue Lock assistant manager Anri Teieri pointed out to Jinpachi Ego that their practice strategies needed to be revised.

Jinpachi, however, remained unfazed, expressing confidence in the Blue Lock players’ ability to adapt and improvise.

Blue Lock shifted their approach as the match restarted, advancing with shorter, faster passes. This new strategy disrupted the U-20 defense and created more attacking opportunities for Blue Lock.
